Ships usually arrange provision, spares and stores supplying during berth. Then ship waste (types A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K) is generated from product packaging, use, and daily life and work of crew.

Landing garbage into the sea at random not only causes marine environmental pollution, but also will be severely punished according to the MARPOL Convention. The Chinese government actively responds to the requirements of marine environmental protection and supports oceangoing vessels to land garbage ashore during berth at Chinese ports.
